Proverbs 31:10 says: “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.” The remainder of the chapter goes on to talk about “The Wife of Noble Character”. As I sat down to think about what I was thankful for today, my incredible wife came to mind. As I read through the whole chapter and check off all the attributes that describe Kim I’m taken aback. She is clearly a gift from God. We met when we were still in high-school and we were married about a year after graduation. I have to be honest… I thought she was beautiful, I thought she was funny, I loved being around her (in fact, we were inseparable), we loved all of the same things. But the best part was that her Mom was a Travel Agent which meant some serious perks and discounts. SOLD! I had no idea that she would be so caring for her family, so protective, so gentle. I didn’t know she would work so hard (my false confidence was such that I truly believed she wouldn’t have to work a bit cuz I had it “covered”). I didn’t realize how caring she would be to others in need. I couldn’t even begin to fathom the level with which she can do ten things at once…I personally can’t walk and chew bubble gum at the same time! And most amazing, and clearly what makes her so obviously a gift from above, is that she hadn’t yet blossomed into the downright fantabulous, incredible COOK she turned out to be. Whew!
For sure, today and forever, I am thankful for my Princess!
